Dry Needling

Trigger-point dry needling consists of a procedure where a fine needle or acupuncture needle is inserted into the skin and muscle. It targets trigger points -- hyperirritable spots palpable as nodules in the taut bands of skeletal muscles. Dry Needling stimulates a trigger point in a skeletal muscle. and can help release the trigger point, relieving pain and/or improving your movement. Dry needling can reduce muscle tension and improve pain. The technique also can help with muscular issues that don't involve trigger points, such as rotator cuff damage. The needle creates a tiny lesion in the tissue, promoting blood flow and healing to the area.
